ERIC COTTEN, PRODUCER
Eric Cotten is the experienced producer on this team. He has successfully pursued several careers including the health sciences, investments and real estate. It was via his real estate business that he became associated with the HBO show - The Wire (2002 - 2008). The connection with the HBO crew and production team reignited his long-dormant creative side. As a result, he started volunteering at the Maryland Film Festival (2005 - present). His involvement has grown from a general volunteer, festival captain, Operations/Development Assistant and for the last several years - screening committee member.
He has written / directed / produced / executive produced nine shorts with one Sundance Credit (Afronaut 2014 - producer). He has screened for a variety of festivals including the Baltimore Women In Film Festival, Annapolis Film Festival (2014) and Tampa Bay Gay and Lesbian Film Festival (2015). Additionally, he has coordinated the second year of the Baltimore International Black Film Festival (2015). Before joining the team to work on Church Hat, his most recent short film The Love Within wrapped and is currently on the festival circuit.
